Star Wars Kinect Release Date Announced: Galactic Dance-off Mode Included

The new Kinect Star Wars game is going to feature a galactic dance-off mode where the player can jive away with R2-D2. Oh; isn’t that fantastic. I do love seeing Star Wars fans watch as their treasured childhood memories are dragged through the dirt time and time again. The poor bastards.

So you’ve just got back from seeing Star Wars in 3D at the cinema and you trip over your Jar Jar Binks door-mat (‘You-sah-home!). Better not let those clumsy feet let you down as its time to enter the virtual world of the Mos Eisley Cantina and dance away with C-3PO like a Twi’Lek in front of Jabba the Hut.

Kinect Star Wars Dance C3P0

'Oh R2D2 you useless contraption! My delicate joints were simply not made to bust these sick moves'

You thought I was joking?

I’m not a Star Wars fan to be honest. I thought the films were good and I enjoy the franchise but I don’t give a crap about what the Star Wars fans kick up about, but I do feel sorry for them and understand their plight as their beloved franchise is dragged more and more down into a pit of despair. Don’t get me wrong; the dancing will probably be quite fun to do, but its just the question of why?

Don’t worry, though, Star Wars fans, as its one of many mini-games available to play, so you can just totally ignore the dancing if you want. But if you change your mind you can enjoy dancing to songs like ‘Ewok This Way’, ‘Can You Feel The Force Tonight?’, ‘Gimme Gimme Gimme a Mandalorian After Midnight’, ‘Yoda The One That I Want’, and the ballad epic ‘Don’t Cry For Me R2D2′ (credit has to go to the Eurogamer commentors for these names. And no, they are not real).

Oh. I should probably mention the game is out on April 3rd. Get those … erm … sky-moon-walker shoes ready and polished!
