Panels of the Week- Week of 11/16/11

While there were all sorts of great comics last week, I can’t help but feel that the ladies of comics had an especially strong appearance in this week’s panels. I suppose that’s bound to happen in a week that sees top quality, female-centric comics like Wonder Woman, Birds of Prey, and Generation Hope released. Ladies and Gentlemen, here are the top 10 panels from last week’s comics:

10. Generation Hope #13

Generation Hope #13 panel

Magneto, I am disappoint.

Our resident Phoenix fanboy strikes again. Expect a post full of panels like this when whatever Marvel has coming shows up.

9. Atomic Robo and the Ghosts of Station X #3

Atomic Robo #3 panel

Nice t-shirt.

My hobby is reading comic books about robots built by Nikola Tesla.

8. Birds of Prey #3

Birds of Prey #3 panel

You don't want to see how she responds to bad grammar.

I feel weird when people call me ma’am too, Ivy.

7. Avengers Academy #22

Avengers Academy #22

That never works when I try it.

You never know quite what you’re going to get with sentinels.

6. Avengers #19

Avengers #19 panel

There are some great reaction faces in the background here.

I’m not a fan of Brian Michael BendisAvengers, but I couldn’t help but smile at this one.

5. Severed #4

Severed #4 panel

This is too pretty to poke fun of.

Sweet taken on its own, heartbreaking when you know what comes next.

4. Batman #3

Batman #3 Panel

Gets 'em every time.

Eyes were used as a motif throughout the issue, but this was the panel I found most striking.

3. X-Factor #237

X-Factor 227 Panel

The kind that help the helpless?

References to Angel are always appreciated.

2. Wonder Woman #3

Wonder Woman #3 panel

I feel you, Zola.

This is even better when you see the panel that comes next. Nothing quite like a disapproving stare down from the gods.

1. Justice League #3

Justice League #3 Aquaman

Wonder Woman votes for ice cream.

Nominated by our editor in chief! It’s been a good year for Aquaman and a good year for the Justice League.
