The Los Angeles Times has a new shot of Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins with his elvish blade Sting from the Upcoming The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey film directed by Peter Jackson.

Probably the most interesting thing about this is the fact that if it truly is from An Unexpected Journey and not There and back Again then that means most of the main body of work for The Hobbit will be in the 1st movie. For anyone not familiar with the book or the Rankin/Bass animated film, a good halfway finale would either be the riddle game or “15 birds”.

Perhaps the cobweb filled forest of Mirkwood will serve as the part one cliffhanger instead?
