The Avengers is still very much in production, and the powers that be have decided to grace us with a couple of new images from the set. Well; most of these look almost like stills from the movie, so I’m not entirely sure what we’re seeing.
In the first image, Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans are staring up into the sky, looking battered and bruised after a long battle. For some reason, their hair remains immaculate, and I would assume that whatever (Skrulls? Loki? Something else?) is coming their way isn’t about to mess up their well-dressed hair the slightest.
In the next two images, we see Scarlett Johansson. In the first, she is talking to Joss Whedon, probably getting pointers on what to think about in her portrayal of the Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff. The next picture is of her looking suave and sexy as buildings explode around her. We can see that there have been a couple of subtle changes to her costume since her appearance in Iron Man 2, which is good. I never really liked the costume they gave her there.
The next image has Chris Evans examining his gear. It looks like they may be on the heli-carrier here, and he’s going through his options for what to bring with him when he suits up to head into battle. I really like the fact that his current wardrobe looks like it could have come out of the 40s, it gives an interesting edge to the character that reminds us that he is, truly, a man out of time.
After showing up in the sidelines and post-credit bonus scenes for a couple of movies in a row, Samuel L. Jackson‘s character, Nick Fury, seems to have hit the ground running in The Avengers and has action scenes of his own. It’s not clear who/what/why he is shooting in this picture, but I’m sure all details will be made clear soon enough.
In this one, Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. stand looking off to the left. Captain America is suited up and ready to go while Iron Man – Tony Stark – is in a long-sleeved t-shirt and looking generally unimpressed with things. I’m guessing from the context that this is shortly after Captain America gets his new suit and they’re looking off to the side to see what’s going on there with something else.
Last up, we’ve got Tom Hiddleston as Loki, being brought through the corridors of what looks like the heli-carrier again, flanked by a dozen guards. He doesn’t look all that worried about it, though. Maybe he’s got a trick up his sleeve?
