Katee Sackhoff, best known for her role as Kara ‘Starbuck’ Thrace on the recent incarnation of Battlestar Galactica seems to have landed herself a new job. If things go well, she’ll be playing the female lead in Vin Diesel‘s upcoming Chronicles of Riddick Sequel.
The character written for her is called “Dahl”, a Nordic mercenary tracking Riddick. We’ve got very little else to go on for her role, but I’m thinking anything that features Katee Sackhoff can’t be that bad, right? Apart from Vin Diesel, the only actor we’re fairly confident will be in the movie is Karl Urban, who’s tasked to play “Lord Vaako”. I like Karl Urban’s work, he’s a fine actor who deserves more leading roles. I’m looking forward to seeing how he handles Dredd.
Here’s a general plot synopsis of the movie:
Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction.
