Today, October 21st, 2011, is Christopher Lloyd‘s 73rd birthday. Happy birthday, Christopher!
Christopher Lloyd, most known for his role as Doctor Emmet Brown in the three Back to the Future movies or his role as Uncle Fester in The Addams Family, has had a long and illustrious career. His first appearance in a movie came in the 1970 Burt Lancaster and Dean Martin movie Airport, where he has an uncredited role as a patron in an airport diner. Five years later, his first named role came in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, where he played Max Taber, an unruly patient who was released before McMurphy arrived.
Since then, he’s been a busy bee, appearing in multiple movies, television series or video games every single year so far. According to his IMDb profile, he’s currently involved in ten different movies that are in either pre-production, production or post-production. These movies are: Untitled Dan Goor Project, Delhi Safari, Piranha 3DD, Cadaver, The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure, Dead Before Dawn 3D, Cunning Little Vixen, Thicker, Time, the Fourth Dimension and The Return of Captain Kidd. As you can see, none of these are major movies, and my guess is that Piranha 3DD is the only one people recognize off the bat. Still, one cannot but admire how busy this 73-year old has been during his 36 years of cinema.
Lloyd hardly ever makes grand public appearances or gives interviews. Many people who know him or have worked with him describe him as a very shy and quiet man. While he’s been married four times, he’s never had any children.
