Just a couple of days ago, we got to see the first trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman, one of the two upcoming Snow White-based movies. Today, we get to see the trailer for the other one.
Mirror, Mirror
Embedded below is the trailer for Mirror, Mirror, Tarsem Singh‘s Snow White property starring Lily Collins, Julia Roberts and Armie Hammer. It’s the lighter, friendlier, child-friendly version of the story that does not feature an armor-wearing Kristen Stewart battling huge evil-looking trolls in the forest. This is the film where the dwarves make pop-culture references (“Say hello to my little friend!”), not the film where Chris Hemsworth runs through the forest looking like he wants to kill your ass. This is the film where the queen turns Nathan Lane into a cockroach that says ‘twihididhihi’, not where the mirror tells the Evil Queen to “consume her heart”!
So one could definitely say that there’s a different tone in these movies.
Still, Tarsem Singh has a way with visual effects, and I’m definitely looking forward to seeing if he can pull this one off. If nothing else, it’s going to be an amusing feel-good movie featuring Sean Bean in a role where he doesn’t die. That’s always something.
