Episode seven is finally out, and you’ll find it on iTunes as always. Just click right here for the show. … But really, by now you should be subscribing to this thing.

This week, Petter and I had a chat about the Emmy’s, including why Autistic Spectrum Disorder seems to be a popular winning topic this year. We chatted briefly about the latest patch notes for Starcraft 2 as well as two upcoming movies. TV Shows was an interesting subject as well, and we chatted about those. Mostly, however, we talked about my dog’s testicles.

In this episode, we managed to displace our schedule and just went free-form.

For the fourth week running, Petter Mårtensson returns to join me to talk about everything that comes to mind. We didn’t have much in the way of movies and television to talk about, so most of the podcast was dedicated to games and the Google/Verizon-network neutrality discussion. This week’s recommendations were deep-tissue massage (Breki) and The Chronicles of Spellborn (Petter).

As always, the episode can be found on iTunes right here. However, if you want, you’re free to download it as an MP3 right here instead.

Episode Three - The One Where They Keep Their Schedule! Out now!

After going over time on the first two podcasts, Petter and I decided that it was high time to try to keep to our one-hour schedule. With a few seconds to spare, we managed this heroic feat! (Achievement Unlocked)

Listen in here!

This week, we talked about:

Robert Rodriguez has been pegged as the director for the upcoming Deadpool Movie.

Persons Unknown, slipping from ‘not good’ to ‘absolutely awful’. I swear, people, I’m going to go on a crusade to banish this TV Series to the nether reaches of hell. No matter what you’ve done; you most probably don’t deserve the agony that is this show.

The leaked Thor-trailer (no link, of course) and our opinions on it. Looking a lot better than we expected!

Cowboys and Aliens, our hopes, dreams, anticipation and ideas.

We also chatted about a recent post by Greg Street (AKA Ghostcrawler) on the World of Warcraft forums.

We chatted about our thoughts about Starcraft 2 now that it’s been out for a week.

The five, this week, was “Five movie cliches that we’re sick and tired of”. They were:

People with computer skills can do anything.

Walking away from explosions in slow motion is awesome.

Henchmen need gun training, and not from the Imperial Stormtrooper Marksmanship Academy.

“I’m getting too old for this” and “I’m just a week away from retirement”.

Guns running out of bullets at opportune times after having had an infinite amount of bullets just before that.

The recommendations for this week were:

Breki: The P90X training program. I’m going from nerd to alpha male in 90 days!

Petter: Vanguard, the great MMO that nobody seems to play.

As always, find Petter and Breki on Twitter. CSICON also exists on Twitter.

Stay tuned for the next episode!

While not the freshest news on the block, it certainly is the piece of news that’s made me happiest these past few days.

He has played kings, princes, captains and mutant professors both on stage and on the silver screen, but now Patrick Stewart has a new title that he can rightfully call his own. He is now a Sir.

Sir Patrick Stewart, who most of our readers will know either as Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek: The Next Generation or as Charles Xavier from the X-men series, has been knighted by Queen Elizabeth for his long career in film and theater. Says Sir Patrick:

This is an honor that embraces those actors, directors and creative teams who have in these recent years helped fill my life with inspiration, companionship and sheer fun.

Personally, I think it’s a little bit strange that this hadn’t happened already. For some reason, I had assumed that the Yorkshireman was knighted years ago, but apparently not.

Set your phasers to congratulate!

... and maybe in more ways than one!

If you have any interest in the Mortal Kombat franchise, you can’t have missed that a trailer for a Mortal Kombat movie has recently surfaced on the Internet. Only four days old, it’s already been watched more than two and a half million times.

The trailer, which is very dark and grim, depicts some of the Mortal Kombat characters that we know and love in a very different light, bringing a more realistic feel to the world. It’s almost like the effect we got when Christopher Nolan did The Dark Knight from the Batman franchise. No longer is Baraka a crazy monster with claws, he’s a plastic surgeon that went a little crazy and started operating on himself until he looked very much like the character we know from the games. Reptile also is no longer a strange monster, just a person with a case of harlequin ichthyosis – oh, and mass murder and cannibalism.

If you haven’t seen the video yet, you absolutely should before moving on. Keep an eye out for 90:s teenage heartthrob; our favorite spandex-wearing borg, Jeri Ryan.

Collider had an interview with Kevin Tancharoen, the producer of the trailer. His previous claim to fame was … well, Fame. Unfortunately, we learned that this was only a pet project of his and that no major movie is being planned. However, he hopes that major companies – Warner Brothers own the movie rights to Mortal Kombat – will pick up on the fan appreciation of this trailer and shoot a real version of this movie. In Kevin’s vision, fatalities are a major part of the movie, “Get over here” – Scorpion’s tagline – would definitely be used in the movie, Jax Briggs would be played by the actor that plays him in the trailer and that Scorpion is definitely a bad guy.

We can’t say often enough how excited we are to see this movie actually come to life in the same manner as it is described in the trailer. The last Mortal Kombat movie was – well, let’s call it a disappointment. … and, since this is CSICON, let’s just add our hope that Michael Bay will stay as far away from this project as humanly possible.

But as if it wasn’t enough that we had an absolutely amazing Mortal Kombat movie trailer, we were also given the news of a new Mortal Kombat game coming out – and it promises more blood, more violence, more brutality, cringeworthy fatalities and none of the dull camera action that distract you from the fighting you’re there to see.

Kotaku has the trailer for the new game, which brings to mind the earlier Mortal Kombat games in a way that makes me feel very happy.
