Fantastic Four Movie Remake One Step Closer to Being a Thing

It seems they didn’t quite learn their lesson from Fantastic Four and Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer, because now it seems they want to go and reboot the movie franchise.

Fantastic Four

I’m quite sure a big part of this is because Fox doesn’t want the franchise to fall back into the hands of Marvel. The second movie was made in 2007, which means that the property would return to Marvel later this year, if I’m not mistaken, unless they showed that they were actively pursuing a movie about the Fantastic Four.

The latest news are that Josh Trank, writer and director of upcoming Chronicle, has been approached to direct the movie. He hasn’t been hired yet, but the studio seems dead set on getting him. I think the big question will be how well Chronicle does when it’s released.

Personally, I hope this doesn’t go well for them and the property falls back into the hands of Marvel. I want to be able to see them grow their cinematic universe outside of just the characters involved in The Avengers, and it would be great if they could have the Fantastic Four as part of that expansion. Reed Richards and Iron Man are great together, for example.
