BlizzCon 2011: Blizzard, You’ve Made Me Happy

To summarize my thoughts on the new World of Warcraft expansion: It’s awesome!

Blizzard has really worked on updating the gaming experience instead of just updating the game. Take, for example the new Monk class, a simple thing like removing automated attack – sure, I can no longer run and pee while farming low level mobs but, at the same time it will force me to really participate in my fights more. Unless I teach my cat to press a button for me while I empty my bladder or if I find one of those birds Homer Simpson had, but that didn’t really work out all that well for him.

I’m also really curious about the new talent system, and I’m hoping that maybe, maybe I can actually choose what I believe to be a cool or fun choice and something I feel is a part of the character I have created without someone telling me that I’m being stupid and I couldn’t possibly win a fight like that. I feel like they have really given a big effort to make a game for different kinds of people. I’m also going to be able to play the way I like to play and still not miss out on special items that you before only could get by doing a certain thing. I’m going to be able to stay away from people a lot more – yay!

Brown Rabbit, I choose you!

Pets! One of the greatest thing about the game for a girl like me is definitely the pets. With the ability to fight and level pets, they get the attention they deserve. After being great companions that’ve been as faithful as a dog, following me around in all my adventures and being present in dangerous fights, they get to show that, indeed, pets can too! They’re like our best friends in a world we must defend!

I don’t have to mention that everything looks beautiful, because it always does. If it didn’t I wouldn’t play it. I play a lot with my eyes. The thing I always look forward to the most is to explore all the new areas, to get to walk around in them and taking them in. The new areas are really new, once again, and I can’t help picturing a lovely anime, all World of Warcraft-styled of course. I really like that you won’t be able to fly in Pandaria until full level for just this reason and it also further shows the work on the gaming experience.

The whole idea of the new expansion is wonderful to me and I hope I will have plenty of time to play it.
